So thankfully Mr Ng finished work early last night and we were able to finally check out Shangri-La's Blu Bar on 36 and I have to say it was well worth the wait! One of the best reasons to come here is definitely for the fantastic view but I have to say it was the service that really stood out. Not only was the bartender one of the friendliest I've encountered, but when Mr Ng managed to spill his untouched drink all over the carpet after sitting down (very typical Mr Ng behaviour) the concierge had replaced the drink and the waiter had cleaned up the mess within a couple of minutes. VERY impressive.
It seems that the crowd mainly comes here for drinks so the bar menu only consists of light snacks and unfortunately no desserts. After a quick perusal of what was on offer, Mr Ng and I settled on the truffle oil potatoes and the venison burger:
which were a nice accompaniment to our cocktails.
Just some quick advice if you are planning on going to Blu on a busy Friday night: as soon as you arrive put your name down on the waiting list for the 'lounge' area which provides a much better view over the night lights of Sydney (and if you are lucky enough to sit on the far end of the room, a superb view of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House).
Great views, good food and can't complain about my company ;) so all in all was a fun night out.
Off to check out the Campsie Food Festival now!
